Back2School Haircuts
Every Year we provide FREE Back2School Haircuts. Below are just a few highlights.
The Start
​
Back2School Haircuts starting in 2007 with a small church wondering how we could reach out into our community to share the simple message that somebody cares. We came up with FREE Back2School Haircuts .
​
The first year we had just a little over 30 kids sign up and we partnered with a local salon to do the cutting. We had just 3 beauticans that year and got the job done.
​
Each and every year this event has gotten bigger and bigger, with last year over 500 FREE haircuts and over 22 beauticans giving of their time and evening to come and cut hair.
We are continuing to add events and reach our community in new ways every year.

Back2School Haircuts - Whats Happening This Year?
Sheriff Shootout - NEW THIS YEAR
​
Parents and kids, this year we welcome the Crawford County Sheriff department for the shootout. Be sure and swing by and test your skills at this event, and be sure and get a Sheriff badge!
MOJO Tropical Sno
​
This is a kids favorite, the MOJO Tropical Sno. Each kid who gets a haircut also gets a FREE Tropical Sno Cone.
This will be MOJO's 3rd year with us in providing and connecting to the community for the evening.. Thanks Susie and girls..
Blow N Smoke BBQ
​
​ ​We also will have the Blow N Smoke BBQ shack returning this year. FREE Hot dogs, chips and pop. Last year Grammy's served and gave away over 450 hot dogs to kids and families. Special thanks to Chad and Pam McCubbin for their time and effort.

Dunk - A - Cop *Sponsored by Casey's General Store
​
​ ​This is our 1st year of the Dunk- A-Cop dunk tank. We have partnered with local law officers to provide the kids with a lasting memory of getting to dunk a law officer. We expect lasting relationships out of this event and think it will be a huge hit with all the kids and parents.
Special thanks to Pittsburg Police and Frontenac Police for the particpation.
KOAM - FOX 14 Televison​
​ ​This is our 7th year with the local TV stations. KOAM 7 and FOX 14 will be on hand for the evening providing games, toys, popcorn and other fun things for all kids, be sure to come on out and hang out with the T.V. Crew.
Special thanks to both KOAM & FOX for the particpation.
This year we will be taking out our summer frustration's out on KOAM/FOX 14 meterologist Nick Kelly in this year's dunk tank. Be sure to come on out and enjoy.

Shoot the Fire Hose - Baker Fire Department
​ ​We are so thrilled and thankful for our 1st responders and what they mean to our community. Baker Fire Department has been with us for over 10 years and they do a wonderful job of letting each and every kid "Shoot the Firehose"

Out - Throw - A - Gorilla
​ ​This year we have partnered with PSU Gorillas to come on out and be a big part of hanging with the kids. We will have PSU athletes and 3 big bouncers in what we call The Pepsi Pitt...
So be sure and losen up your arm and get ready to see if you can Ou Throw A Gorilla.
The Purple Pie Toss
​ ​This is Pittsburg BIGGEST Pie to the face. We love seeing the faces of kids and adults as they take a PIE to the face.
